Engineering for the Long Haul: WSC ME Takes on the Silverlake C1 Endurance Series

1–2 minutes

Endurance racing is the ultimate test of human resilience and mechanical reliability and in 2026 West Suffolk College ME will be taking on the challenge of entering selected rounds of the Silverlake C1 Endurance Series, the UK’s premier one-make endurance championship.

Offering exciting 3, 6 and 24-hour contests without the budgets required for GT racing, the C1 Endurance Series delivers exciting, multi-driver endurance racing on five of the UK’s most iconic circuits. Based on first-generation Citroen C1 cars, to keep costs down the only modifications allowed are specialised performance parts to manage the demands of long-distance competition.

After four successful years competing in the Student Motorsport Competition, part of the BRSCC Nankang Tyre CityCar Cup Championship, WSC ME has an expert knowledge of the Citroen C1 platform. However, endurance racing adds a level of complexity and teamwork that will allow our students to gain additional real-world trackside experience that will be invaluable as they step into the world of professional motorsport.

Complementing our 2026 campaigns in the ClubSport Trophy and the Class VW Cup, the Silverlake C1 Endurance Series is the final piece in the puzzle in providing our students with a world-class automotive motorsport education.
